We are a small operation striving to raise a few quality Quarter Horses that will excel in Reining, Working Cow Horse, Ranch Horse Versatility or Roping events. We have taken to old tried and true "foundation bloodlines" and infused them with the winners of today. Our goal is to raise horses that are sound of mind as well as body. Our theory - "Disposition is the Best Color!". We want anyone to be able to ride our horses and enjoy riding our horses. Our program started with a young foundation bred stallion named Nuevo Wimpy. "Okie" as we called him was 97% NFQHA with the great bloodlines of Wimpy, Poco Tivio, Jessie James, Poco Champ, Parkers Trouble and Leo all within his 6 generation pedigree. In fact, he carried an own son as well as a grandson of Wimpy ON his papers. Our first band of broodmares were all old - geriatric to be exact. But with a lot of TLC we have preserved some hard to find bloodlines in our young stock. The stallion that we stand now is a product of one of those "old" mares. VS He's Tuf Enuf is a 2003 buckskin son of Tuf n Busy. His dam was an own daughter of Gold Fingers and out of an own daughter of Mr. Gold 95. Tuf is bred to be an athlete and he has lived up to every expectation we've had for him. Tuf’s first babies will be hitting the ground this spring and we are really excited to see the results of our hopes for him as a sire.
We have three kids (yes, the human kind). Jake, 17 is the 2006 Idaho State High School Rodeo Association champion team roper. He has qualified for the State rodeo the last three years in both team roping and calf roping. He qualified for the Silver State Invitational Rodeo his Freshman year and his Junior year. Jake's love is in the roping events and that is obvious since he excels at it. Taylor, 10 and Katie 7, just love to ride. Taylor wants to be a rodeo queen so that she can ride "Tuf" and show everyone how to do a "real" sliding stop. Katie, well, the faster the better for her. They all love to ride good reiners and can do just about anything on their horses. THAT's why we breed for disposition as well as ability. For the FUTURE!
Me, well, I'm a special education teacher so they say I must have loads of patience. My children and my husband aren't convinced but they love me anyway. I also love to ride the reiners and rope as well. I'm told I get to show "Tuf" this year so we'll see. We need to get a few “rodeo” horses ready for the girls and have a great selection right here at our place. And, hopefully we can all get back in the show pen this year so we can better provide our customers with seasoned and proven horses. The girls and I also raise purebred/full blood Boer goats. At least we can handle that when the boys are off to whatever events they have going. Our goats are champion 4-H projects and we always have plenty for sale. We always love to talk horses - yours or ours - and welcome visits to the farm and phone calls. We hope you'll find something you like at our place and that we can assist you in finding "just the right horse".
